AAR IDEAL Current designs assume that the end extensions slide flat in the wear liner with support across the full end extension surface. |

ACTUAL CONDITIONS Brake shoes wear on taper! Theoretically (and in real service) it is impossible to maintain end extensions parallel to wear liner while the head rotates to match shoe taper. No beam is currently available to react to this rotation except the Patented Diagonally Corrected Brake Beam. |

TYPICAL DIAGONALLY CORRECTED BEAM At the heart of this design is a unique patented contour which allows diagonal corner contact while maintaining the head in the correct attitude with respect to the wheel while providing wide sliding surfaces that eliminate binding. These beams work better because they are uniquely designed to real life service requirements. |
